Swanage Railway Estates
With responsibility for five stations and all the related infrastructure, our Estates department is never short of things to do. From gardening to carpentry and painting, Estates keeps the railway looking beautiful.
Estates
Our Estates team is headed up by a permanent member of staff who oversees several groups of talented and dedicated volunteers who keep all of our station infrastructure looking great and maintained in working order.
Most of the work is carried out during the week in teams who are either responsible for a station or operate as a roving, trouble-shooting team who go where needed.
If you are a keen DIYer or gardener who would enjoy looking after heritage infrastructure and making the most of our beautiful stations then why not, then why not volunteer for Estates today?
Useful Information
Our Estates usually meet on a fixed day of the week and use whoever is available that day which means gives our volunteers the flexibility to attend the railway at a rhythm that suits them.
Is this role for me? The work is a mixture of indoor and outdoor, with large indoor projects usually reserved for bad weather days.
